My favorite time of the year! I absolutely love the fall. There’s so much to do in the fall. It’s not quite as hot out. You have that nice crisp air in the evening and early morning. Football is back in full force. If you know me, you know, I am a diehard football fan. I love my Florida State, Seminoles, and my Chicago Bears. I love all the pumpkins in the falling leaves and the smell of cinnamon and maple. There’s something so cozy and comforting about the fall. The minute fall hits, I start lighting candles in the house, putting out all of my fall decorations, and I also get really inspired to bake .
One of my favorite things to bake is Dutch apple pie. I always made it when my kids were little as well because it smells up the whole house, it gives you such a warm and comfy feeling. And it taste amazingly good. here is a blog with my Dutch apple pie recipe in it.
I also really love to put pot on the stove. It’s one of my favorite things to do so that the whole house between the smell of the candles and the pot and the stove just smells like fall. I make my stove top pot with a cut up an apple, and orange, put a little bit of cinnamon in it as well as some brown sugar and cloves. Make some altogether and have them simmer all day. It puts out such a wonderful smell and it takes away a lot of the kitchen cooking and smells don’t make the kitchen so inviting.
As we go into this fall season, I want to remind everyone, that there are so many families who are struggling. This is especially true within the Autism community. I’ve had so many different families come to me in need of help.
Peyton and I have discussed many times how we can help so many of them. We’re really at a loss because many times the needs are too great. After much discussion, as well as talking with other people within the Autism community. Peyton and I decided that one of the things that we thought would be great to have a Team Awesomism Country store.
It is so much more than just an online virtual store. Team Awesomism Country Store has a special mission. We are selling handmade items as well as small business items. We are looking for autistic adults and small businesses that would like to join us and sell their product through our store. A small percent 25% is taken from small businesses, but we give the entire amount back to autistic adults.
If you make a really awesome item and you’re looking for another outlet to sell it, please join us! Where do the proceeds from all these sales go to? It goes to help other autistic adults. Not only do we help set them up and grow/set small businesses, we help them become entrepreneurs… Or to become independent contractors.
We also try to help them so that financially they don’t continue to struggle. It’s the old saying of give someone a fish feed him for a day, teach him to fish, feed him for a lifetime.
So if you’re reading this blog, we would really appreciate if you would do 3 things!
