Summer is almost over, Fall is almost here

“Summer is almost over, Fall is almost here”

I remember when I was a kid I used to really hate those words… I absolutely loved summer when I was a kid… Not only because I had a break from school, but we spent every summer in Holland,  Michigan. My parents had a summer home or as we in the Midwest called it.. a cottage.

My grandparents, My grandfather had passed before I was born, so it was my grandmother… Had a cottage in northern Wisconsin… We would go up there for a week every summer as well. I really loved their cottage… it was a log cabin set in the woods.. the area was so peaceful, I absolutely loved both of these places… There was a sense of security, a sense of warmth and since our summer home was on the lake… I spent a lot of time in the water.

I loved summer as a child. It’s funny how things change… And it’s not just because I live in the south, because the summers are so hot, I just absolutely love fall. Fall has become my favorite season.

I love that everything becomes about apples, cinnamon, pumpkins, colored leaves… Football… Fall festivals etc… and we start preparing for the holiday season. There’s somethings so comforting to me about the fall. It’s funny how as we get older… Well I am old… Last September I officially became old, because I turned 60… How much are perspectives on life change. When I was a kid my seasons were decided by where I was going to have the most fun. Now I look at life more like when I feel best emotionally… Mentally, emotionally even physically… To me there is something so calming and soothing about the fall.

Unlike many people who I see on social media, I happen to be one of those who loves having all these different pumpkin flavors of things… But I have to admit my favorite is definitely the apples and cinnamon that come in the fall… My husband teases me because I would put cinnamon in everything, if I could get away with it!

During the fall season I will be doing different blogs with decorating ideas,Recipes and Self care tips and more.. what is your favorite time of the year?
