Pillows for the road trip win! I have never really been a big pillow person when I’m traveling like pillows on my bed.
Oh, don’t get me wrong. I am a pillow fanatic, I have pillows everywhere. However; I don’t normally like to take them on a road trip, because they take up so much room. I would rather take other things, so when Hest asked me if I wanted to try one of their pillows for a road trip, I thought maybe I’m not the best person, but I’ll go ahead and give it a try.
For those of you who don’t know my husband, our adult autistic, son, and myself are on a six month long road trip for Autism. We are traveling the country talking with people all over the heartland of America. Our goal is to raise acceptance about the challenges that autistic adults face every single day. One such challenge is they have a 75 to 85% unemployment rate .
Needless to say our car was already loaded down with so much, the three of us and Peyton‘s therapy dog etc. etc. but when I got the pillow and I saw the size of the pillow I thought this is very doable. Before I even realized how amazing this pillow was, I realized what a great accessory it is to put behind your back when you are sitting in a couch or a chair in your hotel room.
I tend to carry all my stress in my shoulders and my back, so I have a lot of issues with my back having this behind me actually really helped and I hadn’t even opened up the pillow yet! This pillow is so easy to use. It is so comfortable and honestly it is such a great addition to all the other items we have taken!
Peyton was a bit jealous of the pillow, so we have decided that we would share it… Even Tex.. Peyton‘s therapy dog, wanted in on the action and he decided he needed to lay on the pillow as well. LOL it is very compact. It is easy to take apart, put back together, it washes easily, and honestly this is probably one of the best travel items I have seen in a long time.
One of the things I love about this pillow is, it is easy to carry around. Traveling like we do, we are dragging things in and out of the hotels.. so having something easy to carry is a must!
This pillow also is something you could use at home.. Peyton likes a certain amount of consistency, this is true of many autistic adults. So having an awesome travel item, that is also an every day item, is helpful. Both he and I love this pillow, it is soft but yet very comfortable. It doesn’t stain easily, which is great for road trips.
We give this pillow a 10 on a scale of one to 10! As of now… I have not found anything to dislike about the pillow. It is definitely something we will be taking on all our Team Awesomism Virtual Academy road Trips!
